BenQ Named No.1 Projector Brand in India and Indonesia Top 2 in Asia Pacific* and Worldwide TAIPEI, TAIWAN, August Day, 2011 – BenQ, an internationally-renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations, continues to claim victories in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions*, especially in emerging markets. In India, BenQ clinched the top spot as the No. 1 projector brand with over 20% of market share and 26.5% QoQ growth rate in the second quarter of 2011 according FutureSource Consulting. In Indonesia, another one of the fastest growing markets, BenQ has held the No. 1 place for four consecutive years.

Based on FutureSource Consulting’s Q2 2011 report, BenQ projectors maintained second* in the Asia Pacific* regions with 12.6% of market shares. BenQ reached top two with a steady performance in the education segment with 21% market share and took down the No. 1 position in the 3D segment. These achievements put BenQ forward as one of the most respected brands in the projector industry.

“India is a very promising market, showing a 33% YoY growth rate in its total available market in Q2. And BenQ outgrew that market with continuous efforts to cultivate the local education market through intensive channel visits and marketing activities.” said Adrian Chang, President of BenQ Asia Pacific. “Indonesia, on the other hand, is a key emerging market in Asia Pacific which BenQ has remained No. 1 in for over four years. BenQ’s success in Q2 was shared around the world with over 11% of market share achieved in the global market. In Japan, BenQ was the only non-Japanese brand ranked in top 3 with more than 10% share of market. BenQ was also the top-three projector brand in 38 countries, including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, UAE, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Russia, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Similar to the Asia Pacific market, BenQ took the lead in both the DLP and 3D segments.

For the second half of this year, BenQ plans to unveil new models across all segments targeted to meet various demands. To help support schools to build a truly versatile learning environment for their students, BenQ has readied its projectors with power-saving solutions, optimized brightness and network control features. It has also completed its short-throw projector offering from 0.3 to 0.9 throw ratio.
